A Beautiful Story
Veena and Kalpesh had invited over three-hundred people to their wedding at The Belfry Hotel and Resort in the West Midlands. The problem was, they told me, they were both really camera shy! However, they also told me they were up for anything, so we decided to have some fun…
On the day, glorious colours, jewellery, fabrics and decorations filled the halls. Once the main part of the celebrations were over, I took Veena and Kal off into the hotel grounds, onto the golf course. There, the perfectly groomed, rolling contours provided a luscious natural setting and contrasted beautifully with the happy couple’s exquisite silks and satins. We even convinced some golfers (they didn’t take much convincing) to lend us their cart. The couple started to relax, clowning around and just having fun in that unique way that only two people truly in love can. It was charming to watch and worked extremely well – one of the photos even won me Wicked Wedding Photographer of the Year 2018.

Despite the fun, the shots themselves were marred by a typically British overcast sky. Luckily, years of experience has taught me one or two things about Photoshop; I was able to turn the dreary grey sky into a bright blue, bringing out the colours and light with a silky ‘magazine-like’ feel which the newlyweds were both overjoyed with.
