A wedding to remember
Nicola and Matt’s wedding was set to be one of the most beautiful weddings I’ve ever shot. Not only was the venue a historic manor house and country estate in an idyllic part of the country, Nicola was a Victoria’s Secret model and the family and all the guests were…well, there’s no other way to put it: very good looking!
There was only one problem: ironically, they were both nervous about being in front of the camera. So I suggested we do a pre-shoot, to get comfortable with each other. The result was a charming encounter and some lovely shots in a Central London park. Not only did I really get to know them and their story, we even got to socialise a bit afterwards. Building this kind of rapport allows me to become attuned to a couple, their wants and needs, and understand how to capture their unique chemistry.

With over a hundred people expected at the ceremony, everything needed to be perfectly planned. Nicola and Matt wanted the kind of stylised, glossy photos you might see in a magazine like Vogue or Vanity Fair. Scouting the location beforehand and using near-studio lightning made this a reality, but the real show-stealer was the stunning Berta Bridal Couture dress that Nicola was wearing – something she had asked me to showcase, which I was more than happy to do.
