Making Light of a Foggy Christmas
If you think cloudy days and rain can be your biggest nightmare, think again! Joanna and Kyle’s wedding was plagued by something worse – fog!
The location itself was beautiful – Greenwood’s Hotel and Spa, a luxury dedicated wedding venue and hotel in Essex. Unfortunately, the happy couple’s choice to shoot the ceremony outside was scuppered by the weather. It wasn’t just foggy, but extremely cold – something I’m always concerned about when there are elderly guests waiting around. However, the interior of the back-up room Joanna and Kyle had hired was bland and uninteresting. What to do?
With some creative direction and a sprinkling of my signature motivational banter, the mood took a positive upturn and everyone managed to get into the Wedding (and the Christmas) spirit
While all the guests (and waiters) were coming inside for canapés and drinks, it was Martin James to the rescue…! Dressing and re-lighting the main room I created a kind of set, complete with starry backdrop lights, plants, Autumn leaves adorning the floor, and a number of relocated Christmas decorations.
Then, with some creative direction and a sprinkling of my signature motivational banter, the mood took a positive upturn and everyone managed to get into the Wedding (and the Christmas) spirit. A good time was had by all and the photos turned out stunning – you can actually see how much fun they were having and how genuine the smiles are.
